Welcome to my lessons page! I am currently offering private horn lessons in the Vancouver, WA area. I've been playing horn for almost 15 years, and have had the chance to teach many students along the way. I absolutely love teaching, and would be excited to work with anyone of any age and experience level. If you'd like to read more about my professional experience, check out my about page! Lesson Rates
Consultation
Free!
A consultation is an opportunity to meet and see if lessons are right for you. If the student is under 18, a parent/guardian should be a part of it as well. This could take place in person or over Zoom.
30 minute lesson
$40/lesson
30 minute lessons are great for younger students who are just starting out.
Hour lesson
$70/lesson
Hour lessons are ideal for more advanced students who really want to improve. The extra time makes a big difference, and it's a better price per minute!
What You'll Learn In Lessons
Fundamentals: scales, developing your ear, creating a great sound, and how to practice and improve at home.
Repertoire: classical solos and etudes, and whatever interests the students. We can explore popular music, movie music, or anything else!
Life Skills: how to overcome obstacles and solve problems, organization, resilience, setting goals, and working towards them.
My Core Teaching Philosophies
Anyone can learn to play an instrument! Innate talent doesn’t lead to success, hard work and determination does.
Adapting to each student’s needs: each student is unique, and should be treated as such. The format of a lesson, what we learn and how we learn, can all be adapted to the individual.
Positivity is key: learning an instrument and taking lessons should be fun, even when you make mistakes! Each mistake is an opportunity to learn something new.
Studio Information and Policies

I don't currently have my own studio space, so lessons can take place in your home, over Zoom, or at your school (if we can coordinate with your band teacher)

I can travel to houses and schools in Vancouver, Camas, and Battle Ground. If you live somewhere else, still reach out! I may be able to accommodate.
Cancellation/Makeup Lessons:

If a lesson is canceled less than 24 hours in advance, payment is still required. I may be able to offer a makeup, but that is not guaranteed.

If the weather prevents travel, lessons will take place at the scheduled time over Zoom.

By scheduling a lesson you are agreeing to abide by the cancellation policy.
Payment:

Payment is expected in advance or at the time of the lesson.

I offer payment on a per-lesson basis, or monthly. For students taking lessons regularly, monthly payments are recommended. If you choose to go with monthly, you will pay for all lessons that will take place that month at the start of the month. This keeps the schedule consistent and makes it easier to schedule make-up lessons if things need to move around.
